I have the same white Battenburg curtains in three rooms of my house. What can I say? I like what I like. And, I like humble, unfussy lace.

2015 EDiM Day 2 - A Nearby Tree

We always wonder if our 80-year-old weeping cherry trees will bloom again, but they always do for a week or so every April. It's the only time they're pretty. I think we keep them around for the week of joy they give after another long, cold winter.

2015 EDiM Day 1 - A Favorite Food

I like all tropical fruit. It's one of the reasons I struggle with a strict "Buy Fresh; Buy Local" standard. I cannot imagine never tasting pineapple, mango, kiwi, or bananas again. I also cannot imagine moving to the tropics. So, I compromise and feel a little guilty.

I am carving my own stamps for EDiM this year. I will use at least one hand-carved stamp each day. I will probably embellish heavily with markers, because I really like that look. So, here goes.

I ❤ hearts!

You can't really tell from the photo, but I used a cheap set of glitter watercolor to shine up all the hearts. I love how they look and how little they cost!

This little piece is just so me! Can you tell that Mary Engelbreit is one of my inspirations? I think she invented the black and white checkerboard effect in design!

EDM 265 - Your Neighbor

My neighbor is a master gardener. I am no kind of gardener. When I start to think about going and buying a bunch of bulbs or perennials from the home store, I interrupt myself and remind myself that I can sit on my porch and look at the most amazing gardens on our street. Why would I plant my own? :) This technique has worked famously so far! I have a few low-maintenance, non-blooming bushes and a couple of really comfy chairs on the porch. Please, don't tell my neighbor I've been borrowing her garden. She might start charging me admission fees!
