I remade a favorite Gerard Manley Hopkins poem from EDM 15, but this time I used a dip pen with a very small flat calligraphy nib and gold pen ink applied with a brush. It's much more sparkly in person. I wish I had painted the background a warmer color to start with. After the words were down, it was too late, because my sepia calligraphy ink is not waterproof. Next time. There will be a next time, because I love illuminated manuscripts, and I want to do some for real someday.
